Job Requirements:

  • 19 years of age or older
  • Grade 12 or equivalent*
  • Grade 12 English with a final grade of 70% or equivalent*
  • Valid BC Driver's license (minimum class 5), or equivalent from another province
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada (you must be legally permitted to work in Canada at the time you apply for a position either through citizenship or permanent residency);

Note:;Current BC Correctional Officers are exempt from providing documentation already submitted, or undergoing assessments completed, when hired into the position.;

ASSESSMENT PROCESS

Applicants that meet the minimum requirements;and;submit the required documentation for Grade 12 graduation and Grade 12 English will be invited to complete further assessments in the hiring process as noted below.

  • Security Screening Questionnaire (SSQ)
  • Correctional Officer Physical Abilities Test (COPAT)
  • Interview
  • Reference/Past Work Performance Checks
  • Valid Occupational 1st Aid (OFA 1) or a;Worksafe BC approved equivalent
