As a result of continued growth, PermaCorp has an opportunity for a Senior AutoCAD Designer to join our team in Edmonton, AB!

POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a;Senior AutoCAD Designer;who will be responsible for preparing plans and technical drawings for large custom railings multi-unit/retail projects, sketches, calculations, quotations, specification sheets and other data. The successful candidate has a strong technical understanding of the railing manufacturing industry and has the ability to work both independently and within a team to achieve targets in a timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create 2D and 3D models for new and existing products, includingbut not limited to metal railing, decking, knife plates and other related items
  • Review drawing packages under supervision of the Structural Engineer and Design Manager
  • Responsible for development of new products and continuous improvement of existing products under the supervision of the Design Manager
  • Initiate and develop template drawings for fabrication
  • Complete accurate bill of materials for requisitions
  • Work with the fabrication team to assist in solving shop fabrication problems
  • Complete documentation packages and product drawing sets
  • Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data
  • Maintain KPI performance awareness
  • Reesponsible for engaging with suppliers, clients and product support and required
  • Act as a department supervisor in absence of a Design Manager
  • Review drawings of junior designers when required
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Min 5 years of 2D and 3D modeling and drafting experience
  • Diplima or Degree is Civil and/or Structual drafting or technology from an accredited technical college preferred
  • Highly competent in the use of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Experience using SolidWorks preferred
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, meticulous environment with competing deadlines
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge and experience in building architectural design an asset
  • Autodesk Certified Associate (ACA)
  • Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CSWA)

REMUNERATION

  • Compensation based on experience
